Why is the order important?
You will have heard these three words grouped together in various contexts. However few people stop to consider how they may have come together or relate to each other.
Here is a suggested answer and you can judge whether it makes sense to you.
If you agree that a Spirit is immortal, then it is likely to have been here first. At some point it has decided to take on a body to do something or achieve something in what we might call the ‘Physical Universe’.
The Spirit looks for a body that is close to being born or waits until a pair of suitable parents conceive one. At some time during pregnancy or just after birth, the spirit enters or connects with the body.
The baby then grows into a child but can’t create much of an effect because it is still dependent on its parents or care givers for survival. The spirit may not be able to do much through the body but can still make its presence felt. Children often report experiencing visits from angels and strange perceptions which may even frighten them.
Meanwhile the young child is developing a memory to remember information and skills that it is learning. This becomes part of what we call the Mind. As the child grows it is using the mind to remember, interpret and react to life as it experiences it. These experiences can be mostly good or mostly bad, and they will colour and affect how the growing child sees and operates in the world.
As the child grows into an adult it has more learning to do. It must learn life skills which enable it to survive and achieve what it wants. These skills enable it to make its way in the world and to become an independent operating person.
Only now can the spirit start to exert its influence on the body to start creating the results it came to this universe to do or achieve.
Does this model of how Mind, Body and Spirit may relate to each other resonate with you?
