“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful
beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant,
gorgeous, talented, fabulous?”
– Marianne Williamson
Generally, our reaction is to agree quickly, but ignore what it means.
We say things to ourselves like
‘It may be true for people like them who have done great things already, but it doesn’t apply to me in the very normal life I live.’
But why not?

We should ask first where does this power they are referring to come from?
It is not likely to be from our human body, or the mind that we have created to go with it.
So it must be found in our Spirit!
There have been many documented cases of stories of human beings performing spectacular feats of strength, courage or endurance way beyond their normal physical capabilities.
These can only be explained by a spiritual intervention to provide the power and ability to do something that the individual has never done before. Even afterwards, they have difficulty believing they could have done it, Sometimes they don’t even remember doing it.
So the next question is why can’t we access this power more often?
The answer is ‘We do but don’t know that we do!’
Most of us use it everyday, We use it negatively to keep ourselves small and inconspicuous. Whenever we say to ourselves ‘I can’t do that’ we are creating a self-fulfilling prophecy Henry Ford said.

So why are we so good at making negative use of this power? I would suggest it comes from three sources.
First, lack of encouragement and validation by our parents and teachers who lead us to believe that we are incapable in most areas. They influence us not to try to avoid being disappointed.
Second, our social world is full of discouraging people who asked “who do you think you are?” You are told that people like you shouldn’t be doing this or that. If you try to break out of the norm, you are told that you should stick to what people like us know and do.
Third, our religions tell you that you are a miserable sinner who should be ashamed of yourself and should stay small. Be obedient to our rules and don’t think for yourself.
Some individuals, despite all these setbacks going against them, break out and do great things.
And you can be one of them, if you believe you can!
